Meet The Treatment Team

Robin Anderson is a nurse practitioner at Upstream Health and Wellness.  She graduated from Purdue University in 2012 and is certified through AANP.  She lives in the region with her husband and three children.    Her diverse experiences come from the hospital, home health, occupational and endocrinology arena.  It is through these experiences that Upstream was birthed.  She saw the real need and gap in the healthcare setting and understands that patients are looking for and deserve so much more.  When you become a patient with Upstream, we know you are coming with frustrations and that most patients have sat in PCP and specialty clinics without answers or results.  We know that you expect MORE from us and we aim to meet that expectation.  We give freely of ourself, our time and energy because each patient is that important to us.   Within each of us is the potential to accomplish, rise up and transform.          

Melanie "Mel" Splitgerber is a nurse practitioner at Upstream Health and Wellness.  She graduated from Valparaiso University in 2007.  She  has a love for endocrinology and women's health.  She lives in the region with her husband and has two grown children.  She enjoys spending free time outdoors, bike riding, unplugged from busyness,  and cherishes connection with those around her.  She believes the truest way to live is to enjoy every moment.  

Mel is passionate about wellness/prevention and integrating the medical model with a holistic approach to get results.  She is truly invested in your wellness.  We are only as healthy as our body is on a cellular level and there are so many ways outside of medicine that we can use to support our health, thus improving our lives.     

Alexandria "Lexi" Molaro is a nurse practitioner here at Upstream Health and Wellness. She graduated from Souther Illinois University- Edwardville in 2022. Lexi has been a provider in other offices but enjoys taking the holistic approach and being able to help patients in a variety of areas. Lexi lives in the region with her husband and daughter, with another little one on the way. 

Since joining the team, Lexi has made great relationships with everyone here,  both patients and coworkers have expressed their joy of having her around. Lexi is a fun personality who is able to make anyone laugh but also help figure out what she can do to help. She is very dedicated to her work which is very prominent in the care she gives to the patients. 

Jessica "Jess" Mercado is a new nurse practioner at Upstream Health and Wellness. She is a graduate from Valparaiso University is 2014 with her BSN and from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2023 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

 Jessica grew up in Portage and now lives in the area with her husband and three children with her two wily dogs. She has worked in a variety of settings and is excited to learn from the amazing group here at Upstream Health and Wellness.

Michelle Doan is a medical assistant at Upstream Health and Wellness.  She has a diverse healthcare background and is currently in nursing school with long term goals of joining Upstream's providers.  Michelle enjoys her family and furbabies, crafting, cleaning and organizing.  Her superpowers include multi-tasking and efficiency.  She has traveled her own wellness journey and understands that health is where your power lies.  

Ryleigh Anderson works as a medical assistant at Upstream Health and Wellness.  Ryleigh is genuine, funny and adaptable.  Although an integral part of the Upstream family her passion is dental.  She is currently a dental student at IUN.  She is a die hard foodie, enjoys Starbucks, The Grinch, but mostly loving and living life BIG.

Ryleigh is also a big fan of self care.  We are such a small part of this big world but great things are done in a series of small steps.    

Tessa works as a medical assistant at Upstream Health and Wellness, where her animated chatter and vibrant personality shine through. Known for her genuine and humorous approach, she brings a sense of joy to the workplace. Her passion lies in the field of medicine, and she's currently studying nursing at Valparaiso University.

Tessa believes a blend of passion for healthcare and an appreciation for life's simple pleasures can lead to remarkable achievements.

Reaghan works as a medical assistant at Upstream Health and Wellness, where her unique personality is always on display.  Currently she is in NP school at PNW and is also highly interested in Chinese medicine.  She is interested in exploring other cultures and seeing all that this world has to offer. She spends her free time in many ways, studying for school, reading different novels, and her favorite... resting. 

Reaghan believes that everyone has their own unique value and deserves to be heard.  She believes the medical field will provide her endless opportunities to help patients along their path, whatever that may be.

Kelly Moore is a receptionist at Upstream Health and Wellness.  Anyone that knows Kelly, knows that she is an open book, has a heart of gold and has never met a stranger.  She enjoys spending time at the beach and with her two daughters, bargain shopping and always up for adventure.

Kelly understands that believing in yourself can be hard but that anything is possible once you make up your mind and just show up.
